Show Danielson Has a Big Time An Independence, Mo., paper gives the Danlelsen Plow Co.'s Now Year's reception quite a write-up, In the following fol-lowing language: "In celebration of completion of the big building of concrete, steel and glass and the Installation of a portion of tho machinery of tho new Danlelsen Danlel-sen Plow company, tho company gave a New Yeai's reception at the plant Wednesday. There was a program of speeches, muslo by tho band and a choir of male voices and refreshments. "The visitors gathered at the plant and inspected the building. The floor Is of concrete, tho frame of steel, and tho sides and top so much of glass as to make tho building light at every corner. Patent ventilators provide for tho ventilation of the entire structure. A portion of tho machinery Is hero, already al-ready and two big electric motors from tho Independence plant furnish tho power. The main machinery for trio plant has not arrived and is expected ex-pected at any time when It will bo Installed In-stalled at once and the making of plows begun. "A small plattorm was erected at the center of tho hall for the Independence Inde-pendence band which played a program pro-gram during tho afternoon. At tho south side of tho building was another platform where the speakers sat. Mayor J. A. Prowltt called tho meeting meet-ing to order and presided throughout tho program, making happy remarks between the speeches and at tho Introductions. In-troductions. Probably three hundred men and women or Independence were present. "The principal speeches wcro made by A. A. Whipple, of Kansas City and J. A. Uunyan, secretary of the Merchants Mer-chants association. Representing the Merchants' association, theso two assisted Mr. Danlelsen In locating tho plow factory and showed them many places In Kansas City. Both expressed the Idea that Independence was practically prac-tically a part of Kansas City and that this b.lg manufacturing plant would bring others and that the entire Blue "Valley would ultimately be tilled with plants. "The program was opened dy the song "America" led by the choir In which the audience Joined. W. G. Danlelsen made a brief address of welcome In which he said that this plant was only the beginning and that other buildings wculd Immediately follow. Elder B. P. Cummlngs made the Invocation. President Jos. Smith, of the Reorganized church of Latter Day Saints made an address especially appropriate to the occasion and It was received with approval by the audi-ence. audi-ence. Then camo tho address from the Kansas City men and short talks from councilman Wm. Pitt, A. M. Ott, Wm. Shouthern Jr., and S. O. Ben-nlon. Ben-nlon. Elder Fowler gave a monologue and tho choir and band completed tho program. "After tho program tho tables were surrounded and tho audience went through tlio plant. Tho exorcises occupied oc-cupied tho entire afternoon." |
