On Wednesday night Inst the Old Folks' committee gave n ball in the opera house for the purpose of raising 'means to defray the expenses of "old folks day" to be held in the future. The party was a huge success socially as well as financially, and the committee com-mittee is to be praised for the excellent ex-cellent way they managed affairs. Jlrs. Secrist entertained the "Mothers Social and Literary Club" one night last week. Tho date being tho auiversary of the Doctor's birth. He invited the husbands 6f the club women, and a most pleasant evening was spent in social chat, games and iu eating a delicious dinner.
