Show Dissolved Tho Howell & Crawford firm lias dissolved partnership and both Mr Howell and Mr. Crawford will retire froranctlve business life In this city The dry goods and grocery business will be sold out at big sales or to a combination now considering tho matter, mat-ter, and tho clothing store lias been disposed of to Wm. M. Howell and brothers Mr. Crawford lias sold his real estate Interests lo Hon. Joseph Howell. It Is stated that this dissolution Is the result of Mr. Crawford's dcsjre to take a much-needed vacation, his du tics as manager of the firm's big business busi-ness during recent years having been particularly strenuous. Ho feels that he needs and Is well able to afford a rest. Mr. Howell lias no desiro to continue a business establishment, hence the disposal of all the firm's business. The dissolution Is said to have come with the best of feeling on the part of both members of tho firm. The Howell & Crawford firm succeeded suc-ceeded the Union Mercantile company nine years ago and for years did a splendid business. The '.. C. M. I. corner was purchased two or three years ago and a clothing department there under tho management of Wm. M. Howell has made wonderful strides. Later, tho old It. K. Thomas corner was purchased and just a month or two ago a department store was opened there by tho Howell & Crawford firm. All of this proved too much for Mr. Crawford, hence the ending as stated. Hoth members of the firm undoubtedly undoubt-edly have tho best wishes of the public and It hopes that sooner or later they will again find It advantageous to become be-come members of Logan's business circles. |
