Show Three, four, live and six years ago, L the trl-wcekly was undoubtedly In- "T terested In the public's wellfarc. Even since we knew It, tho old blunderbuss blund-erbuss has been prating about Its love for tho public, It's care for the public's Interest. How Is it then, that a few years ago the Journal charged four times tho price for public printing that It is now willing to do It for? Possibly tho public's wellfare demanded de-manded that the Journal charge a higher prlco a fow years ago. Tho fact Is that for years the democratic organ fed at the public crib, and charged tho price It cared to charge. It got used to having things come Its way exclusively. Through political misfortune, the Journal lost Its place at tho crib, and it can now hardly stand tho prossurc. Its at-tempt at-tempt to guise Its whines under plea of "tho dear public's Interests," Is most amusing. |
