Show THE RIGHTEOUS JOURNAL. In the year of our Lord 1800, when the glorious Dcmorcatlc party was In powcr.the Logan Nation bid less than 8 cents for the pub!. cation of each description de-scription of the delinquent tax list. The Logan Journal, the self-righteous, all perfect, undying friend of the public's interests, bid 22 cents a description de-scription for the publication of that samcdellqucnt list. Wli got it? The Logan Journal, of course. WOULDN'T THAT J Alt YOU! How could this wondrous friend of the publlo accept the work at that price when a much lower bid had been submitted? How could the great aud glorious Democratic party, the only friend of the people past, present and future, award said publication to the Journal at 22 cents In the face of another bid of 8 cents? Councilman Evans expressed awful contempt for tho republican majority that awarded the city printing to the Logan Ilepnbllldan when Its bid was slightly higher than the Journal's? The Republican now proposes to arrange a big public meeting that Mr. Evans may have the opportunity of expressing his terrible contempt for his Democratic friends. The democratic "only" is a big dog In Its own estimation, but as others see It in the light of facts and experience experi-ence tho Journal Is a small poodle with a bark that Is akin to a lamb's bleat rather than a lion's roar. |
