Show THE CATTLE MARKET. Aaron Farr, who returned from the cast a short time ago, sas that Utah cattle are received with little favor In the eastern markets, the result of the bleeding In of Jersey and other stock unsuitable for beef Mr. F.irr sa)s tliatthis dlsfa(ir has made It necessary neces-sary for stock buyers In Utah to ship from Franklin, Idaho, In order to show by tho shipping bills that the stock docs not come from Utah. It is, a well known fact that catllo In this country have deteriorated, due to the failure to import pedigreed animals ani-mals Tills Is a progressive age, and breeders of cattle, hogs, chickens and every other specie of animal should not breed from anything but thorough bieJs It costs no more to feed a good animal than a poor one, and when placed on themaiket the good stock sells icadily when the other falls of recognition. These are facts well worth consideration. Instead of Utah cattle being viewed as Inferior stock, they should be of such grade as to demand de-mand a precedence oer others Utah cattle should have the reputation that Is the portion of the Cache Valley horse. If the breeding of horses had been neglected as has been tho raising of cattle, Cache Valley would be one of the last places that horso buyers would come to. As it Is, however.our county Is considered the best place In tho state for good horses. |
