Twenty-two men went from Preston and twenty-four I from Weston. The Preston boys claim the honors although, on account of a misunderstanding, Mm other side was not willing to award tho contest to Preston. A count has hot j et been made but it ,1s safe to say that the number of rabbits killed runs tar Into the hundreds. The dancing party given at the , j Academy by the Stake Choir on Wed- & nesday, night was a success In every way. The choir is particularly complimenting com-plimenting Itself on the outcome of the financial end of the party, as. the treasury has been empty for some tlme'and the choir Is badly In- need of new music. Next Friday evening Prof. Itlchard Lyman.of the University of Utah, will lecture before the Literary Society of the Oneida Stake Academy. The sub-I sub-I Ject of the lecture will bo "Tho birth- right of every American cltfren." The Fourth Ward Relief society held Its annual at the Fourth ward meeting house today. The attendance attend-ance was exceptionally large and the meeting was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Mr. Fredrick Bosworth Is reported as being in very 'poor health, on account ac-count of which he contemplates selling sell-ing out Ills business In Preston and returning with his family to his former home In Pennsylvania. The Stake conference will be hold on Saturday and Sunday.. Several of the church authorities are expected up from Salt Lake. On account of the last two or three day's thaw the streets are almost lm-passable lm-passable for mud and slush. - Fres. Geo. C. Parkinson and A. W. Hart returned today from a business trip to Salt Lake. 1 Mr. John McQueen Is preparing to build a modern business block on State street. Architect John Nuffer has moved his oftlce into the Parkinson block. A son was born to Mr, and Mrs. Clarence Hanson today. Bishop Woodruff Is not Improving as rapidly as his friends could wish. As a result of his hard fall ho Is suffering suf-fering from scvore headache, which is only slightly better at this writing. Thomas Craighead has sold his home below the track and is building a home on hU lot west nf his father's property on Depot street. Horn to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ingel-bretzen. Ingel-bretzen. Thursday afternoon, a tine baby girl. Both mother and daughter aro doing well. Geo. Toolson has torn down part of his old residence and Is preparing to build a tine new homo.
