Christmas of 11)05 has stirred the business busi-ness men and clerks to great energy and each has striven to make the most of his opportunity. Unfortunately Unfortu-nately many windows are too small for the elaborate display desired, but In practically all Instances the effort ef-fort is well worth the while, and the windows as a whole present a delightful delight-ful appearance. Theso window displays are gotten up, not for attractiveness alone, but as a help to the Christmas buyer. In each window appears an assortment of this, that and the other, suggestive of suitable, presents, and a study of tho windows will frequently save tho shopper ana clerks much trouble. Tho purchasers should mako it a point to visit tho uarious windows us the goods are placed there to be looked at. The affect is delightfully pleasing and 'tis a pleasure to look. In their line new home they havo one of the very best windows in thu city and state, and here is a great elk, harnessed In gold and silver tinsel, drawing over a field of snow a sleigh in which Is no less a personage than Santa Claus himself. The sleigh is loaded with the various musical instruments for sale at the house, and Kris is making a great stagger at getting music from a magnificent saxaphonc. Around the sleigh on the snow Is an arrangement of tho latest popular sheet music, and back of tho whole stand three of the company's Hue pianos. Midget In-condesccnts In-condesccnts In colors shed a radiance that lends to the attractiveness of the display. The Idea is a good one, well carried out and catches and holds the attention of every passerby. It is worth a trip to sec, and the Thatcher Music Co. is to bo congratulated on their energy and enterprise. Tho Ultor Hros. Drug Co. establishment establish-ment Is draped in Imitation holly, chrysanthemums and snowballs, and Is one pleasing to tho eye. Mr. Illter has gone to no little expense In his decoration and the clerks have spent much time in securing the excellent results. From out all this charming decoration show calendars large in assortment and of real beauty, and such other magnificent Christmas ideas as arc calculated to please oven the most exacting. It's u pleasure Just to drop in and look around. Cardon always has something in his window that draws the pedestrian up to take a look. One time it's kodaks in profusion, then beautiful china-ware, china-ware, watches, rings, dialing dishes, clocks and Its always put in the window win-dow by tho hand of one who knows the advantago of an artistic effect. This time it's scarf pins, watches and hand-painted china, but theso windows win-dows aro changed veiy frequently and may be different from this by tho time tills reaches the public. Howell & Crawford have superb show windows and probably spend more time and money on their decoration decora-tion than any tirm in the city. They have always had the advantage of excellent ex-cellent window dressers, and though their displays are changed evcy few days their designs arc strikingly original, elaborate, artistic and compare com-pare with the best In stores of like sbo In the larger cities. At this writing, writ-ing, but one Christmas window is finished and until next Issue we will not touch on cither. Thu Murdock Candy Kitckcn is a perfect beauty 1n Itsgorgeous Christmas Christ-mas array Tinsel and burlesque toys hang everywhere and paper Jlmcracks draped around give tnc place a fairy like appearance. Wo will wager that there Is not a like house In tho state outside of Logan that Is as elaborate hi its holiday dress. Murdock's windows win-dows arc always attractive even to those who do not Indulge In sweets, and a lavish display at this time Is exceptionally ex-ceptionally tine. One of tho Campbell & Morrell windows win-dows has two large columns entwined with tinsel which Is festooned to the top of tho window. Tills serves as an cntranco to a disclosure of bander-chiefs, bander-chiefs, tics and shoes. The other window win-dow contains at this writing a display of tailored suits for ladies that is attractive, at-tractive, but this window Is usually so well done that wo doubt this, being the big Christmas display. Better watch these windows. II. G. Hayball's big window is filled with gicat dolls and all the things children like. This Is "Toyland" arranged ar-ranged very attractively. In another window there Is a "great sale" on raisins rais-ins and this great sail is one that carries car-ries a ship named the "Warrv Xmas" on a sea made of raisins. The Idea Is very good and attracts attention. A splendid array of sllvcrwaie, cut glass spoons, tabic sets and such like makes an excellent window for the Johnson Jewelry Co. Uy actual count there aro a hundred good suggestions in this window and In helping the undecided un-decided shopper, there is not a window win-dow In the city that offers more. Look in and sec for yourself. A display of carving sets, berry spoons, nut sets and such like Is to be seen in the windows of tho Noah Lar-sen Lar-sen Hardware Co. Such things can not be made up Into an exceedingly attractive display, yet in tasty arrang-ment arrang-ment they prove very suggestive. Mr. Larson Is offering some exceptional exception-al Inducements. Albums, toilet sets, and looking glasses llll one window at the City DrugCo.'s place, and In the other Is an assortment of whLikcys and wines. Mr. Iiisliop usually has a largo and well selected stock of Christmas goods but the windows arc not of suillclcnt sl.o for the best display. A bedroom suitc with portlcrs make an attractive window for the Wm. Edwards Furniture Co. At night intermittent electrics attract attention to the display. Another large window space Is devoted to rocking rock-ing horse, and baby buggies. The windows show up well. 'Die Lundstrura Furnituro & Carpet Co. is running in opposition to the Art Institute at the B. Y. C. and features feat-ures a splendid assortment of framed pictures In one window. Children's hopes and joys In another and rocking horses take a third. The windows arc well wortli looking at. Lafount always lias something novel. The strikingly original feature this time Is "A Merry Xmas"done in hardware hard-ware and tools he lias for sale. La-fount La-fount never uses for display anything but that which ho has for sale, but invariably in-variably works these Into attractive displays. A display of gents' furnishings artistically ar-tistically arranged, and made attractive attrac-tive by a liberal use of holly, proves a good window for F. W. Thatcher. The window Is highly supgestlve to that class of pcoplo who give Xmas picseuts designed to be of use. Dunbar & Itobinson have two windows, win-dows, one with a blue and the other with a white back-ground. The blue window' dressed In 'white" pine brandies and gents furnishings and shoes is very pretty. Tho other contains con-tains suits. At the Studebakcr ctabllshment, Manager Naylor has thrown arouud in a careless way a great lot of line lap robes, and pulled a cutter or two up near the windows. One can hardly hard-ly pass without stopping to look. A display of grapophoncs is in the Harris Music Co's. window. Around them Is an arrangement of a varied lot of small musical Instruments, music, etc. To lovers of music the display is suggestive. Cy. . Mapper has some beautiful pictures in his window and some fine dolls. He always lias an attractive holiday display, but at this writing has not finished with his windows. The Sidney Stevens Implement Co. has a display of Buck's ranges and literature incident to their great "Ten Itcasons Why" contest that Is now on. Tho children should look Into this. Spandc, the furnituro man, has a good arrangement of line leather chairs, Just such as any father, husband, hus-band, mother or wife would'dcllght In. These show up decidedly well. The Geo. A. Hansen establishment devotes two windows to a display of elaborate boxed Christmas confections. |
