THE BEACON LIGHT SOCIETY. j Perhaps it is not geheral'y j known that Logan has a flourish-I flourish-I ing ladies literary society, under j the name of the "Beacon Light,'' which has been in existence since !i899- I J he present officers of the club are: Mrs. M. H. Linford, president; presi-dent; Mrs. A. M. Steed, vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Alice Wright, secretary; Mrs. Rose Hall, assistant assist-ant secretary and treasurer; Mrs M. C. Riter, corres. secretary; with Mrs. - M. L. Gowans and Miss Lulu Carpenter to act with .illinium .ir:rTraui.tttf:-i.Tn:minir?nr by Mrs, M. C. Riter. On Oct. 24th, the program consisted of the first lesson on "Child nature or training of the senses" by Mrs. M. H. Linford, and "The beginning begin-ning of. American Literature" by Mrs Fanny Vernon. The next meeting will be held Nov. 7th, when Mrs. Gowans will give her report of the Federation Fed-eration and Mrs. Wright will tell what constitutes an Ideal Husband. Hus-band.
