Show ; Annual Session of Farmers. The Fanners' Association f Cache held a meeting Thursday Thurs-day for the annual 'election of officers. The meeting was held in Logan tabernacle and was attended at-tended by about sixty prominent citizens of the county,; nearly every ev-ery town being represented. The' following officers were elected for the ensuing year: ; I Presideht-Carl M. Nielsen of Greenville. ' ' ' - Vice-president A. L . Hyer i Lewiston. ? ; :' i Secretary-F. J. Marshall -of j Logan. ; Treasurer David Murray ' of I Wellsville. x j Executive com mittee Walter j W. Jones of Wellsville, W, L. j Allen of Lewidton. Willard Liar-, sen of Fairview, William Sparks of Clarkston, and Thomas Irvine of Logan. ' ' A committee of five was apr i pointed to revise the constitution and by-laws, as follows: James Meikle of S-nithfield, F. M; Stephenson of Lewiston, Thomas j Leishman of Wellsville, James j Mortimer and W. H. Thain of; Logan. I f Orson Smith, field agent of thei 1 Logan sugar factory, announced that he was authorized by David Eccles to promise the . farmers that every pains would be taken to promptly receive their beets, this season, and that they could depend upon the very best treat- ment in this regard . This was the only sugar beeti topic discussed. Mr. Allen made' an extended address in which he said the farmers seemed backward in joining the association. He said this was to be regret ed as the farmers would derive great benefit from the association. The question of the organization organiza-tion of a stock' company was i discussed and other similar plans for getting the movement into condition to do better work, but all were referred to the commit tee on revision, with instructions jto report at an early date. |
