Show Conservation officers issues appeal to keep mountain clean Now days Utah sportsmen are thinking exclusively of the June 1st fishing opener, and why not? This time of year would be less meaningful without the anticipation an-ticipation and itch to feel once again the tug of a trout at the end of rod and line. It will soon be not only a time to fish, but also a time to spend lazy days picnicing, camping or partying. And with this happy actiyity of course, comes the dirty side of the summer months. Literally tons of food and equipment containers will be traasported into our mountains and deserts and after having fulfilled their purpose will be disposed of, most likely in trash cans and proper disposals. However, a great portion of the litter will be strewn across campgrounds, along streams and highways, or thrown into lakes and reservoirs. Lets all pitrh in this summer to maintain the clean, refreshing appearance of our favorite recreation sites. Don't let your motive for being in our mountains moun-tains and deserts overrule the responsibility you have to keep the outdoors clean and inviting. You can have a good fishing opener and keep the outdoors clean too! |
