He teaches in Theatre Arts at SUSC. Last year he was voted Most Outstandinding Faculty member by the students at the college. He is the Managing Director of Utah Shakespearean Festival and is scenic director for the Theatre productions of the Drama Department. Mr. Mclntyre is active in Church and Community activity. At present he is president of his ward MIA. He is active in civic and community affairs. He married Kathy Leigh of Cedar City and they are the parents of two children. The Cedar City Coordinating Council is in the process' of conducting elections, according to Mitchell Lunt, Chairman. Ballots are being distributed by mail to community leaders. Any interested individual, though he may not receive a ballot by mail, is invited to participate in the elections. He may obtain a ballot by contacting Marian Hahne, Coordinator at 586-8994, or call at the School Board office in person. The candidates for the Central Committee are: Athlene Cravens, Maridon Nielson, Dee Jensen, and Gary Mclntyre. Two will be elected to succeed La Veil Chamberlain and Ann Judd who have each served two elected terms on the Committee. Athlene Nielson Cravens was born near Ferron, Utah. She attended elementary school there and later moved to Ogden. She graduated from High School in Ogden and attended Weber State College. It was while she was attending graduated from Weber with an Associate degree and then went into the Navy for an enlistment term. Upon completion of his assignment in the Navy, Mr. Jensen attended Utah State University in Logan. At this time, he became affiliated with the Telephone Company and completed com-pleted their training program as Communications Coordinator. He served in that capacity in cooperation with the missile industry in Ogden and with Kennicott Copper in Salt Lake. He came to Cedar City six years ago as Telephone Manager. In Cedar he has been active in Church and Community activity. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Project Coordinator Coor-dinator for the Rotary Club, in charge of the new City Park, and Advancement Committeeman of the Boy Scouts. He married Charlene Anderson of Ogden and they are the parents of two children. Gary Mclntyre was born in Redlands,' California, moved to Cedar City when he was five years old. He attended school here and graduated from Cedar City High School. He attended SUSC and graduated with an Associate degree. He attended BYU and graduated with a BA in Theatre and Interior Design. For a few years," Mr. Mclntyre worked in merchandising in Cedar. He was later employed at SUSC in the Drama Department and then returned to BYU where he received a Masters degree in Weber State College that she met her future husband, Lt. Colonel Kenneth Cravens of the United States Air Force. The Cravens military assignments have taken them to most of the areas of the United States to live. They have been assigned to several foreign countries. Colonel Cravens is presently assigned to Southern Utah State College as professor of Air Science, which brought them to Cedar City to live. Since coming to Cedar three years ago, Mrs. Cravens has been active in Church and Community affairs. She served last year as by-laws and legislative chairman of the Jr. High PTA. She is Relief Society Ward Councilor and teaches a 4-H group. The Cravens have four children. Maridon Smith Nielson was born and raised in Cedar City. She graduated from High School here and graduated from SUSC then BAC, with an Associate degree in Secretarial Science. She attended USUU in Logan and later became affiliated with the U.S. Forest Service as a secretary. She worked in Logan and then was transferred to Washington D. C. She later came back to Cedar where she met and married Lynn (Lindy) Nielson. The Nielsons lived in Salt Lake while Lindy got his masters degree at the University of Utah and then moved to Washington State where they spent twelve years. Since coming back to Cedar City to make their home, Mrs. Nielson has been active in Church and Community affairs. She served in the PTA as membership Chairman, has had several church positions. She plays the violin and has enjoyed participating with the Oratorio Society. The Nielsons are the parents of four children. Dee Jensen was born and raised in Ogden. He graduated from High School there and attended at-tended Weber State. He Circuit Rider Tom N. Hori, a representative from the Small Business Administration Ad-ministration will be in Cedar City on Thursday, June 6.
