Show Parowan Celebration offers "Name the Day" contest PAROWAN - Among the many fine features in connection with the forthcoming Parowan Town celebration will be the "Name The Day" contest. A $25 prize is i offered for the winner in this contest and all entries should be mailed to the Parowan City Council, attention Dennis Lowder, and be received by Wednesday, June 13, 1974. The winner will be announced at the rodeo Saturday night. Another special feature of the celebration will be the parade scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The theme for the parade is "Pulling Together As Families". There are valuable prizes offered for the winning entries in the parade so Dads and Moms get the kids together and decide how the ideals of your family life can best be portrayed through an entry in the parade. Maybe there's an old hand cart in the back yard you can fix up and be a pioneer family, or maybe you can put a pack on the old mule and be a family of prospectors, or if the kids have broken the milk cow to ride this would be a real novel float. Now let your minds run wild and let's have lots of real fun entries for the parade. There is a $5 limit on the money that can be spent preparing the parade entry. Everyone in the area will be interested to know that Vyonne Chamberlain has been out and lassoed a real live buffalo which will be barbecued and served with all the Chuck Wagon trimmings. You had better start gaunting up right after breakfast for this feast. Serving will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Park. A donation of $2.50 per plate or $12 per family will be accepted. Proceeds to be used for a number of worthwhile projects in our area. Howard Knight, Chairman pnp- j I 1 ESSAY WINNERS.
