Show Brad Jackson sets new record at Junior Olympics Brad Jackson, a senior at Cedar High School next year, and running under the sponsorship of the Police Athletic League of Salt Lake City, set a new record in the AAU Junior Olympics Regional Meet staged Saturday at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City. The Cedar City youth captured the century record with a time of 9.7 seconds to better the old mark of 9.9 seconds. Brad also captured first place in the 440 yard dash and joined with Hoskinson of Hillcrest, Fralick of Orem and Turley of South to capture first place and establish a new meet record in the 440 yard relay. The Regional meet brought together f young track and field stars from the f three state area of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Jackson participate in the S older group in the competition. Winners at the meet will now ad- vance to a four-day District meet to be r held at El Paso, Tex. beginning July 23. Represented will be youths from an 11 state area. From the District competition winners will advance to national finals to be held later this summer at Lincoln, Nebraska, Brad is the son of Judge and Mrs. Joseph Jackson of Cedar City. |
