The Bazaar Committee of the Valley View Health Care Foundation held a brainstorming brain-storming session Friday mroning, a meeting full of future fund-raising ideas. The chairman, Susan Foster arrived with a "Santa Pack" of materials that had been donated by the Coleman Company. Most of the meeting was spent unpacking un-packing and making suggestions for the use of the materials. Romona Humphries said she thought the white canvas would make wonderful rug maps and pushing toy cars over the maps made it educational as well as fun." Creative ideas were numerous, and projects initiated were: play tents, picnic table covers, table mats, log carriers, fire proof hearth rugs, kitchen curtains, cur-tains, comforters, and Christmas items. It was announced by the group that additional supplies sup-plies had been made available from a very generous donation by Stephen Brown, former owner of The Attic. This donation will be especially helpful in the construction of Art Craft items, Sue Brat-ton, Brat-ton, member, said. Foam slutting and bright colored prints were provided the work group, and during the meeting several Smiling Snakes were constructed and later "child tested" by some of the children that had accompanied their mothers. Those attending the meeting were: Brenda Stewart, Carolyn Little, Margene Traveller, Ramona Humphries, Juanita Wilcox, Sue Bratton, Susan Foster, Sherry Coop, Barbara Wickel and Wayne Hedges. Susan Foster said Hunter Hardware will provide a deposit box for donations of materials and craft items. |
