Show Zion National Park travel sets all-time record during past year Zion National Park recorded n all-time record of 974,976 visits in 1971, according to Su-oerintendent Su-oerintendent Robert I. Kerr. This figure ' represents an increase in-crease of 71,400 visits or 7 per- cent over the 1970 year. A total of 160,120 visitors used the campgrounds during 1971. which was a decrease of 6 percent compared to 1970. This is the third year in a row that campround use has declined. Travel showed an increase during January, February, Fe-bruary, March, June, July, August, September and October. Octo-ber. Travel showed a decrease during April, May, November and December. - August and September were the leading months with 189,-383 189,-383 and 116,162 visitors, respectively. re-spectively. Zion National Park is open to the public on a year-long basis. The Watchman Camp-pround Camp-pround will be open all winter. The Park Visitor Center will, be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 pm.
