Show BLM Offers Pinon Xmas Trees for Sale The Cedar City District, Bur-' eau of Land Management, is offering b.ihJO singie needle pinyon Christmas trees for idle tnis fall. Tne saies will be by sealed bid; all bids must be received in the district office of-fice at 134 iNorth Main street, Cedar City, Utan, by 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Uciooer 25, lyt7. The trees are being offered in 15 seperate cutting areas located lo-cated in northwestern Iron County in Hamblin and Pine Valleys. The number of trees vanes by sale area and ranges from 150 to 800 trees. They have been appraised at $0.55 per tree; no bid will be accepted accept-ed for less than the appraised price. Anyone interested in bidding bid-ding on these trees should contact con-tact the District Manager, Del-mar Del-mar D. Vail, and request a copy of the sale notice. In connection with the a-bove a-bove announcement Mr. Vail noted Utah State law requires all natural trees used for Christmas decoration purposes must be identified with a tag authorized by the Utah De-partment De-partment of Forestry & Fire Control. He cautioned everyone every-one purchasing a tree to make sure they are properly tagged since possession of an untagged un-tagged tree is prima facie evidence ev-idence of a violation. In Iron County tags for trees to be cut from private and state lands west of Highway 91 may be obtained at the Cedar City BLM office and east of Highway 91 from Dixie National Forest Ranger, Foyer Olsen. In Beaver County the tags are available at the National Na-tional Forest office in Beaver, and in Washington County i from the Washington County Sheriff. |
