McKean, Coordinator Coordina-tor of Seminaries of the Church in the Southern Utah-Eastern Utah-Eastern Nevada District, just returned from a throe-day Coordinators Convention held on the campus of Brigham Young University where the central office of the Department Depart-ment is housed. The convention was held under un-der the direction of Dr. William Wil-liam E. Berrett, Administrator of the Department and Drs. Dale T. Tingey and Alma P. Burton, Assistant Adiminstra-tor. Adiminstra-tor. Addressing the group in addition to Department Administrators Ad-ministrators were Dr. Harvey L. Taylor, Administrator of Church Schools, and Dr. Boyd K. Packer, Assistant to the Council of the Twelve Apostles and president of the New England Eng-land States mission. Dr. Packer Pack-er was Assistant Administrator Administra-tor in the Department when called to be one of the General Gen-eral Authorities in October, 1961. Mr. McKean coordinates the activities of 30 released-time and nine nonreleased-time Seminaries with an enrollment enroll-ment of 3400 students. He resides re-sides with his family at 640 South Sunset Drive in Cedar City. Coordinators together with the administrative staff of the Department direct the religious relig-ious instruction of 111,000 high school students in Seminary classes and 33,000 college students stu-dents in Institutes of Religion or Deseret Clubs in 48 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and nine foreign countries. |
