Show First-Third Wards Trail Builders Meet ior Round-Up Members of the First and Third Ward Primaries held their annual Trail Builders Round Up Wednesday, July 17 in the Third Ward chapel and cultural hall. The purpose of the round-up is to welcome the top Pilots and introduce them into Trail Builder work. Those who enjoyed the event were Primary officers and partners, and the leaders of the Trail Builders and their parents. The meeting was held in the chapel with Doraine Orton counselor, conducting with the following program given: Posting of Colors, by Guide Patrol; song, "My Country I'Tis of Thee"; Prayer, John Robinson; reading by Doraine Orton; Introduction of Top Pilots Pi-lots by Mary Etta Orton; Introduction In-troduction of Trail Building, Doraine Orton. The Blazer course of study was outlined by Maytha Boardman.; Utah-na Utah-na Heap gave the Treker outline, out-line, the Articles of Faith, and Eleen Robinson gave the study stu-dy course for the Guides. i A song, The Golden Plates,1 was sung by Trail Builders; Emma Rasmussen explained the meaning of the Bandlo, I Then came the Welcome march. Trail Builder Code was given by Randy Chamberlain and the boys sang the Trail Builder's Hvmn. Curtis Mitch ell presented the Top Pilots with a lap board and Russell Mortensen presented each one with an Article of Faith card. Garry Bentley, member of the Third Ward bishopric in charge of the Primary, talked to the boys on the importance of Primary Work, the Guides retired the colors and Bud Munford of the First Ward bishopric, offered the closing prayer. The group then went to the cultural hall where decorations decora-tions were in the form of a three ring circus. In the first ring the Blazers demonstrated with a quiz game on the Articles Arti-cles of Faith and Standard Works of the Church. In the second ring the Trek-kers Trek-kers demonstrated the tying of the knots they have to learn to become a scout, and in the third ring the Guides demonstrated demon-strated different ways to do outdoor cooking . After this hot dogs, drinks, peanuts and popcorn were served to all and closing prayer was offered , by Bishop Veil Taylor. |
