Show Ram Baseball Nine Downs Cowboys By 12-2 Score Friday Coach Charles Brinkerhoff's Parowan High basball squad took advantage of five hits, 12 bases on balls and six errors to win their game from a young and inexperienced team from Kanab last Friday afternoon by a 12-2 score. This was the Rams' second win of the season against two losses and leaves them one game to play in league competition. compe-tition. Scott Potter went the route for the Ram squad, and allowed only on-ly two hits, two bases on balls and got 14 strikeouts in the seven sev-en inning contest. And then to add insult to injury Scott got three of Parowan's five hits with Glen Robinson getting one and Curtis Boardman getting the other. oth-er. Coach Brinkerhoff used all of his 20-member squad in the contest con-test with each player getting an inning or two experience. The combination of bases on balls and errors by the Cowboys contributed more to their downfall down-fall than the Parowan hits. Several Sev-eral Parowan runs were walked in or were scored on errors by the young visiting players. The Rams finish league competition compe-tition Friday when they travel to St. George for a 3 o'clock appointment ap-pointment with the Dixie High Flyers. The Dixie team has also got two wins, the same as Parowan Paro-wan and both over the teams Parowan his won from, Enterprise Enter-prise and Kanab. The final game of the season for the Rams will be a practice prac-tice contest with the Panguitch High team at Panguitch next Monday afternoon. |
