Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Virginia Webster Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Hunter Hun-ter flew to Phoenix, Arizona, Monday May 23, where they met with Mr. Hunter's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wil- liam Hunter of Gilbert, Ariz. The two couples, after touring Phoenix Phoe-nix visited in Santa Fe, New Mexico then went to Mesa Verde National Park in Southwest Colorado. Col-orado. The foursome traveled together to-gether along route 66 stopping at most of the national monuments. monu-ments. Entering Utah at Moab, they drove through Utah's Canyon Can-yon Lands and other scenic areas returning to Cedar City on Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. William Hunter visited here an evening with other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bowler returned this week from the wedding of their grandson, Brent Bowler in Sacrament, Calif. Accompanying Ac-companying them back to Cedar City was another grandson, Dennis Den-nis Bowler of Reno. Dennis's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Bowler Bowl-er will soon be making their home in Cedar City after living in Nevada for a year. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Kupfer and family traveled to Brigham City, Utah, for Memorial Day. They planned to visit with Mr. Keup-ter's Keup-ter's mother, Mrs. Chris Kupfer. Pinochle club members were entertained Thursday evening at the home of Leah Adams. All members were in attendance and prizes were won by Sharon Peck, Dorothy Graff and Helen Taylor. Enjoying a reunion Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Cnatteney were sisters and brothers bro-thers oi the Chaueriey lamny. Those from Cedar City and Parowan Par-owan wno attended were Dr. and Mrs. J. Garth Chatterley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bauer, Bau-er, Mrs. Anita Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis. Here for Memorial Mem-orial week end and present for the social were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chatterley of Bountiful, Mrs. Violet Vio-let Robinson of Delta and Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Chatterley and family of Sylmar, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ence of Cedar Ce-dar City recently returned from Phoeniv, Ariz., where they had been visiting with Mrs. Ence's mother, Mrs. Esther Knell. At home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Del V. Bryant, was Miss Mary Bryant of Idaho. She was here for the holiday week end. Former Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Arthur of California Cal-ifornia returned here to be with friends over the week end. Here from Salt Lake City with Mrs. F. H. Petty and the Frank Petty family was Acel Petty of Salt Lake City. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Antone Hunter are Mrs. Hunter's brother-in-law and sister, sis-ter, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Caldwell of Tuseon, Ariz. PINOCHLE CLUB Meeting at the home of Alice Holyoak for their semi-monthly pinochle session were eight club members and a guest, Francis Davis. After enjoying refreshments refresh-ments and the card games, prizes were awarded to Rowena Ashdown, Tarn Higbee and Toni Higbee. |
