Show Health Department Members Tell Services work shop stressing relationships relation-ships of parents and youth. Parents Par-ents could get together and exchange ex-change ideas at the clinics. Dr. Cline indicated that these techniques tech-niques were extremely helpful. It is the belief it is better to work with groups than with individuals. indivi-duals. The council agreed that they would ask the cooperation of the PTA organization in Cedar City "IiT setting- Tip -sucria'T)rograrrf ' to" " be offerred to residents of the area. Two members of the Utah State Department of Health were in attendance at the regular meeting of the Cedar City Youth Council recently. They were Dr. Victor Cline and Reed Morrow. The two men related the services ser-vices being offered in the field of counsling on mental health through the Department. Dr. Cline explained that he and Mr. Morrow spend three days each month in -the' southern Utah area which usually includes in-cludes a day and one-half in Cedar City and one and one-half days in the surrounding areas. Part of the time is spent with the schools through which appointments ap-pointments are made for the counseling service offered. He explained, however, that on the basis of the limited time in the area more could be accomplished accom-plished and more people helped working with groups. After hearing from the two guest speakers the council discussed dis-cussed how the facilities of the department could best be taken advantage of and how to make the services available to more people. The possibility of sponsoring a family life clinic was considered. It was suggested that this be a |
