Show Drama Club Ladies vOpen 1966 Season The Drama Club will begin its 1966 season Thursday, June 9. Programs for the first three meetings of the season have been announced by Mrs. E. W. Southwick, president Mrs. Ver-nee Ver-nee C. Frame will open the series, ser-ies, she will be followed by Fred Adams of the College of Southern Utah Drama Depart-iment, Depart-iment, and Mrs. Edward Hahne, who will present an original .drama. The first meeting of the club -will be at the home of Mrs. Gron-way Gron-way Parry, secretary. The second sec-ond session, June 16, wil be at the home of Mrs. D. C. Shumate. Mr. Adams will review the Broadway play, "The Man From La Mancha", a musical which is based upon Don Quixote, by Cervantes. Mr. Adams will explain ex-plain the Broadway musical and recordings of the original production pro-duction wil be used for excerpts from the show. Mrs. Hahne's original drama has been written especially for the Drama Club. Cast will be members of the club. The Drama Club is beginning its 36th year as a summer study .group. It was organized in 1930 when a group of women decided that dramatic literature was the least known of fields of literature litera-ture and offered opportunities for study. The organization plays, reviews, and listens to readings of plays. Meetings are held at the homes of members. mem-bers. Among the 24-member group are five women who were charter char-ter members. They are Mrs. Bct-enson, Bct-enson, Mrs. Lehi Jones, Mrs. William Wil-liam H. Manning and Mrs. Gron-way Gron-way Parry. |
