Show Holiday Season Brings Familiar Visitors To Parowan; Takes Residents to Other Cities Mrs. Flossie Shiner of American Ameri-can Fork was a Christmas week visitor here with her sisters, Mrs. Jane B. RIchaHs and Mrs. Rober lta Rowley and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Jay D. Macfar-lane Macfar-lane and family left on the week end for Los Angeles to spent e few days with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Winter and family. Mrs. Violet Clark accompanied them as fai as Las Vegas where she will visit with her daughters Iris an-' F' rea, and her son Eugene Clark and members of their familie; Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Brlmhal) and family left Saturday for Mesa, Ariz., where they will vlsi' during the rest of the holidays and attend to business matters Vlsttinnr here from Logan with the Claude Orton family over the Christmas week end were Mr. and Mrs. Chad Orton. Also visiting visit-ing here with the Ortons anr Mrs. Winnie Whitney were the Eugene Ortons of Provo. While here the Chad Ortons entertained at a buffet supper at the home of their parents for school friends. These included Mr. and Mrs Owen Holyoak, who were hero from Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Gurr,. who were here from Provo Pro-vo and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Lowder of this city. Mrs. Rula D. Orton was able to come home from a Salt Lake hospital In time to snend Christ-mas Christ-mas with her family. She underwent un-derwent an operation on her hip several weeks ago and Is now In a cast from her arm pits to her toes and has to remain In this cast for six months, we understand. under-stand. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Muntord and family were down from Logan Lo-gan to spend the holiday season sea-son with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lem-mon Lem-mon and family. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyl Hulet and children were here from Kanab to visit with the Lemmons and with the R. Wallace Hulet family over the Christmas week end. Here to spend a part of the holiday season with the Scott Mitchell family were Mr. and Mrs. Benson Haycock and children chil-dren from Whittier. Calif. They also visited with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Donald Haycock of Cedar City. John Slmklns, who Is attending I the University of Utah, and Miss Dorothy Slmklns, who Is teach- I lng school In Salt Lake City, are home spending the holiday season sea-son with their parents, Mr. and! I Mrs. Ray Slmklns and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Halterman ind their children of Salt Lake City were visitors here at the iome of Mrs. Haltrrman's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Adam wer the past week end. Steven Orton and Rodney Rowley, Row-ley, Parowan students at BYU his winter, are home for the holiday season, Steven at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lollln D. rton and Rodney at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Clair Rowley. Howard Ward arrived here Just hefore Christmas from Carson CI- 'v. Nev. to spend the Christmas veek with his wife and family. He returned to his work on Sunday Sun-day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Holyoak were down from Logan where hey are attending school to pend the fore part of the holiday holi-day season with Owen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holyoak. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Gurr are ' here from Provo to spend the holidays with the Elmer Gurr familv in Parowan and the Howard How-ard Dalley family in Summit. Delmar is attending BYU and Mrs. Gurr is teaching school in Provo. Wayne Merkley, vho is attending at-tending the University of Utah and working at a Salt Lake City printing plant this winter, waa down to spend a day or two with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alrd G. Merkley and family during the holidays. |
