Show VFW Auxiliary District Organization Revised ( A change was made in the Veterans of Foreign Wards Auxiliary Aux-iliary District at the state convention con-vention in St. George last week, under which the Milford Auxil-iary Auxil-iary unit becomes a part of the local district. Thus the Milford unit joins with the Cedar City and 3t. George units for district activities. Marjorie Arrowsmith of Cedar City was elected district president presi-dent at the convention and was authorized Jo select the remaining remain-ing officers and set up a district organization. Attending the state convention from the Cedar City unit were Mrs. Arrowsmith, Mary Rouse, Henrietta Leigh, and Christie Paddock. They report a most interesting in-teresting convention. State Department De-partment president Gliila Pax-man Pax-man of American Fork, presided at the convention. New department officers were elected and Installed with Mir-am Mir-am Kidd. Farmington, named president ; Elsie Decker. Salt Lake City, senior vice president; Hilma Dailey, Provo, junior vice president; Eva Edwards. Logan, secretary; and Eva Yardley, Lo- gan, ifceahUUT. Locajly the members of the Cedar City Auxiliary unit mot with the American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary last week for the purpose of making Poppy wreaths for Memorial Day. Each year the two units make wreaths to place with j a cross on the graves of veterans buried in the Cedar City cemetery. ceme-tery. This year 94 graves will be decorated by the group. Flaj;s will also be placed on these graves, with the two units providing pro-viding new flags for the purpose j this year. The officers state that the members pay this small tribute to "our war dead and say a prayer pray-er for their famUies and friends. May they rest in peace and may! we always be mindful of the sacrifice sac-rifice they made for their country." |
