Show Big Game Board Proclaims Hunt Openings Begining Monday, July 23, hunters may begin making applications ap-plications for one of the 125 antelope an-telope or 20 buffalo permits available under the terms of the 1962 Elk, Moose, Buffalo and Antelope proclamation. 1 Under terms of the proclamation, proclama-tion, approved two weeks ago by the Utah Board of Big Game Control, hunters may apply for antelope permits on any one of five separate hunting units. These areas include the Bonanza, Bonan-za, Cedar City, Daggett, San Raphael and Southwest Desert hunting units. tJo hunts have been set this year for either the West Desert or Box Elder antelope ante-lope areas. A limited hunt for 20 mature buffalo has once again been authorized this year for Utah's small wild herd of these animals, ranging In the vicinity of the Henry Mountains in the south-central south-central part of the state. Application deadline for permits per-mits to hunt either of these big game animals will be midnight, July 28. Successful applicants will be determined on the basis of a public drawing to be held at 10 a. m., August 3 at the State Capitol. In relation to the hunts, department de-partment of fish and game spokesman today reminded that only residents of the SUtc vniy make application this year. Buffalo permits, under the Game Board ruling, will continue contin-ue to be offered to any hunter , only once in a lifetime. |
