Show Pony League All-Stars Named For Tournament Play Monday evening manapers and officals of the Cedar City Pony League met to select an all-star team for 1962 tournament tourna-ment competition. The Cedar City All-Star team will begin cometition on July 27 when they will host a three-day, three-day, double elimination tournament tourna-ment in Cedar City. Participating in the tournament tourna-ment wil 1 be all star teams from Cedar City. Richfield and from the Trl-City league which is made up of teams in the com-sunlties com-sunlties of Orderville, Kanab and Fredonia, Ariz. A single game will be played on the opening day of the tournament, tour-nament, Thursday. Two games will be held Friday and if necessary nec-essary two games will be held Saturday to establish the tourney champions. In addition to the championship the winning team will advance to the next level of tournament competition at Bountiful In northern Utah. Selected to the Cedar City Pony League All-Star team and the teams they represent from the various leagues are the following: follow-ing: PHILLIPS 66: Curtis Anderson, David Jenson and Mike Petty. UTAH PARKS: Brent Averett, Mark Hunter and Clade McAr-thur. McAr-thur. UTAH CONSTRUCTION: David Meyers, Steven Piatt, Ger-ry Ger-ry Roberts, Roger Stratton and Robert Smith. WINTERROSE SO. UTAH MORTUARY: Bruce Hoi-mes, Hoi-mes, Brad Isom and Wynn Isom. CAL. PAC: Mike Taylor. Named as manager of the All-Star All-Star team was Cleo Petty, who coached the Phillips 66 team throughout the regular season. Vee Wadsworth, coach of Utah Construction in league play, was nrned as assistant. |
