Show Republican Committee Names Candidates The Iron County Republican Committee in meeting Thursday, March 4, named six party members mem-bers as candidates for appointment appoint-ment to fill a vacancy on the Board of Iron County Commissioners Commis-sioners caused by the resignation of Myron F. Higbee, Republican. Mr. Higbee, who was elected to the commission for a four year term which will expire at the end of this year, submitted his resignation from the board because be-cause of poor h'.aHIt .'nd upon the advice of his donor. Under the (aw such a vacancy I is to be filled by appointment by the remaining two members of the board of a person from the same political party as the resigning re-signing member. The appointment appoint-ment must be made from a list of six party members recommended recom-mended by the County Republican Republi-can Committee. The two remaining remain-ing members of the Iron County board, Clarence E. Miller, Cedar City, and Earl Bunn, Parowan, are Democrats. The six men recommended by the county committee Include John Beal, Robert L. Gardner, Grant Seegmlller, Jim Heywood, and Lehl Jones of Cedar City and Gordon Moyle of Escalante j Valley. I The appointment will undoubtedly undoubt-edly be made at the regular March meeting of the County Commissioners to be held at Parowan on Monday, March 14. |
