J STAN WATTS Stan Watts, amiable mentor of Brigharh Young University basketball, bas-ketball, and hard hitting Hack Miller, sports editor of the Deseret Deser-et News, will appear as guest speakers at the first annual meeting of the College of Southern South-ern Utah Quarterback Club. A banquet featuring these two prominent leaders in the field of sports in the state and the Western West-ern United States, as a matter of fact, will be held a Hotel El Es-calante Es-calante Friday, Mar. 27 at 8 p. m. it was announced by Lowell Sherratt, president of the Quarterback Quar-terback Club. In addition to the guest speakers, speak-ers, members of the CSU basketball basket-ball team which finished in a tie for second place In the strong Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Athle-tic Conference, will be honored at the meeting and high school, coaches from the surrounding area will be extended special invitations to attend the event Charge for the banquet has been set at $3.00 per plate and it is hoped by officers of the or-j ganlzation that money can be raised by the club to stimulate scholarship funds for the 1959-1DC0 1959-1DC0 son. Sherratt Indicated that at the last meeting of the Quarterback, Club, money was allocated to as- j sist two members of the basket- j ball team in their return trip to! Yorktown, Ind.
