Show Cedar City Lions Club Prepare Plans For June Convention Members of the Cedar City Lions Club are busying thorn-solves thorn-solves in preparation for the Utah State Lions Convention to be staged in Cedar City on June 11, 12 and 13 and work is beginning begin-ning to move forward for the event. Leo Cahoon, president of the host Cedar City Club, reported to members Monday at the regular luncheon meeting of the civic organization or-ganization that officers of the club had mot Sunday with state officers to work out some of the details of the event. Some committees com-mittees have already been formulated form-ulated ad additional committee commit-tee assignments wore made at the Sunday meeting, Cahoon stated. Regular program for the day was furnished by Pratt Bothers, past district governor of Lions, who talked on the purpose of Lionism. He pointed out that community service Is the primary pri-mary purpose of the Lions organization organ-ization as pointed out In the motto mot-to "We Serve." The past governor Indicated; that the club should select some projects for the year that would' render a true .service to the community com-munity and three projects for consideration were proposed at the meeting. j First proposal was to aid a Korean Ko-rean student, who had written1 to the Iron County School Dis-I trict, and who is Interested In attending high school at Cedar City; second, continued work on' the Wood's Ranch recreation area, and third, aid in development develop-ment an adequate sklning facilities facili-ties In Cedar Canyon. Bothers also reviewed a number num-ber of outstanding community projects that have been completed complet-ed by the club In past years. |
