Show Air Force Officer Receives Commendation Note Word has been received In Cedar Ce-dar City this week of the presentation presen-tation of the Commendation Ribbon Rib-bon to Captain Boyd H. Edwards, son of Claude Edwards and Mrs. Pearl Rogers of Cedar City. Captain Edwards Is currently serving with the-U. S. Air Force in Formosa. The commendation ribbon was awarded for his work while serving with the Military Air Transportation Service at Washington, D. C. The ribbon and citation were forwarded to Formosa where the award . was presented. , ' The citation accompaning the award read, in part, as follows: ". . . Captain Edwards distinguished distin-guished himself by outstanding performance ... he displayed outstanding quality of Jeader-ship Jeader-ship and organizational ability in the administration of funds, eulpment and manpower in sup. port of the mission of the 1881st AACS I&M Group. Captain Edwards' Ed-wards' initiative and adroitness not only saved the Air Force thousands of dollars but In many ma-ny cases prevented work stoppages stop-pages that would have deterred the entire communication and electronics program of Navigational Naviga-tional Aids for the Air Force." It Is understood that Captain Edwards' wife and three children chil-dren are enroute to Formosa to be with him on his current assignment |
