Show HIGH SCHOOL NEWS The annual Sweetheart Ball of the Cedar City High School will ix? held Saturday at the stake house. The Swe-ineart Ball is always a highlight of the social season at the school. Theme for the event will be "Young Love," and music for the dance will be furnished by the Starliters orchestra. or-chestra. The dance is a girls' choice event. The student of Cedar High will sponsor a talent assembly this week, which after presentation presen-tation here will be presented at Dixie, Hurricane, Kanab and Valley Val-ley high schools as an exchange assembly. A contest was conducted last week through which numbers for the talent and exchange assembly as-sembly were selected. The assembly as-sembly is under the direction of Betsy Lunt. Cedar High School students haxe been given the privilege of competing in the National Quill and Scroll Society contest, a "Political "Po-litical Quiz for 1957." National winners in Quill and Scroll's group contests receive the socle, ty's creative writing key, and seniors are eligible to compete for the President's Scholarship of $500. The school's calendar of events for the next two weeks includes: Mothers and Sons Night. Feb. 15; Basketball, Cedar at Valley, Feb. 15; Sweetheart's Ball, Feb. 16; Dance Club Party, Feb. 21; Matinee Mat-inee Dance, Feb. 22; Basketball, Dixie at Cedar, Feb. 22; Fathers and Daughters Night, Feb. 27. |
