Show Summer Drama Club Holds Two June Meets I The opening meeting of the 1963 season for the Summer Drama Club was held June 13, at the home of Mrs. Virgie Frame, with Mrs. Sydney Hahne, president, presi-dent, as co-hostess. The play "A Far Country", by Henry Denking, based on the life of Sigmund Freud was presented by readers Sydney Hahne, Nona Brown, Rhoda Jones and Gwen Sandberg under the direction of Mrs. Hahne. Eighteen members anl Mrs. Beverly Bev-erly Elliot, a guest, were in attendance. at-tendance. For the second get-together of the group Mrs. Barbara G. Adams presented the musical drama, "No Strings" by Richard Rogers. The meeting was held June 20. Mrs. Adams brought out the wide disparity in critics comment com-ment on drama in musical form. Added to the reading were recordings re-cordings of musical numbers. LaPreal Smith was hostess at her home with Miriam Luke as co-hostess. Mrs. Fern Hunter, Mary L. Bastow, Mrs. Beverly Elliott El-liott and Mrs. Edrie Marshall attended at-tended as guests, along with 16 members of the club. |
