Wesley Keetch, soil scientist for the Soil Conservation Service in Cedar City, has been promoted promot-ed and is transferring to Aztec, N. M. He will be party chief of a soil survey area, which will include in-clude 100,000 acres of potential irrigated land under the recently completed Nava Jo Dam. Wesley has been with the SCS 11 years, six of them in Cedar City, and five years in Layton, Utah. Prior to his position with the SCS, he had four years in the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Mr. Keetch is a graduate of the Brigham Young University, and had two years with the Utah State University. He is a veteran of World War II, having served with the 691st Tank Destroyer Battalion in the European Theater The-ater for four years. Mrs. Keetch ad son Steven will remain in Cedar City until July 5, before going to Aztec. Mr. Keetch will be replaced by James A. Carley, who is being transferred from the SCS office in Tremonton, Utah. Mr. Carey has worked with the SCS for five years. |
