Show Pony League Heads Select City AU-Star Team Managers and personnel of the Pony League baseball organization organiza-tion in Cedar City met last week to select a Pony League all-star team for competition with surrounding sur-rounding cities and for eventual participation in the national tournament play. According to Keith Cripps, secretary sec-retary of the league, the all-star all-star crew has scheduled games this coming week end against an all-stir team from St. George. The 15-man squad will travel to St. George Sunday, July 4 for an evening game and will meet the St. George crew on the local diamond Monday, July 5 at 8 p. m. in connection with the Independence In-dependence Day activities of the city. Later on in the season the all-stars all-stars will participate in a playoff play-off to determine entrance in district dis-trict and national tournament competition as set up by the national organization. Arden and Utah Construction, first and second in league play, both placed five men on the 15-man 15-man team. Three from Utah Parks and two from Southern Utah Power completed the roster. The breakdown, according to teams, is as follows: Ardens, Gary Anderson, An-derson, Richard Cripps, Neil Petty, Pet-ty, Travis Nelson, and Boyd Dover; Dov-er; Utah Construction, Ray Ends-ley, Ends-ley, Alex Rollo, Leo Larson, Eric Gardner and Phil Yergensen; Utah Parks, Kn Jones, John Isom and Art Pryor; Southern Utah Power, Ronnie Adams and Jim Quinn. |
