Show Cedar Chapter of SUP Announces Special luly Membership Meeting A special meeting of the membership mem-bership of the Cedar City Chapter Chap-ter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers has been called for Friday, July 9, at 7:30 p. ni. at which officers of the national organization of the S U P will be in attendance, it was announced by Wilson N. Lunt, president. Arrangements for the meeting have been made and the local organization has extended an invitation in-vitation to the Parowan and St. George chapters to join with it in honoring the national dignitaries. digni-taries. Speaking time for the meeting will be taken up by the national officers consisting of Richard Lambert, past president; Horace A. Sorenson, first vice president, and Ronald L. Kingsbury, national nat-ional secretary. Musical entertainment enter-tainment fcr the program will be furnished by the local and Parowan Paro-wan chapters. Membership Drive Set In connection with the national visitation the officers of the local lo-cal chapter have announced their annual election and membership drive. Nominations have been been made and the following candidates will vie for positions at the July 9 meeting. President, Clifton Chatterley and Floyd At-kin; At-kin; First Vice President, Clem Judd and Fiank Dalley; Second Vice Presidenr, Gail Duncan and Robert Heyborne; Third Vice President, L. D. Heywood and C. B. Cooley; Chaplain, I. E. Riddle, and E. A. Parry; Secretary and Treasurer, .Bert Langford and Truman Rollins, and Judge Advocate, Ad-vocate, OrviUe Isom and Elton Stapley. George Croft was appointed as permanent historian for the local chapter and Frank Dalley was selected as chairman of the 'membership drive, with Clem Judd and Dan Crawford as committee com-mittee members. Purpose of the visitation by the national organization is to make a closer contact between the individual in-dividual clubs and the national organization. All members and their wives have been invited to attend. It was further pointed out that members must be present to vote in the election of officers. Committees for the meeting have been r ppointed with Loran Hirschi head of the advertising and progiam committee, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Applegate, chairmen chair-men of the food committee. It will be a bread and milk supper, sup-per, officers stated. |
