Show Five Team Softball League Gets Start; Columbia Takes Early Lead TEAM STANDINGS I Columbia 1 0 1.000 Utah Const 1 1 .500 Record 1 1 .500 Bradshaw 1 1 .500 Parowan 0 1 .000 Five teams of the Cedar City Softball Association started play Monday evening, and all indications indica-tions fiom the first two nights of play are that most of the teams are comparatively equal and will afford a number of upsets up-sets during the year. Bradshaw Chevrolet gave Columbia Co-lumbia Iron Mines a scare in the league opener Monday evening eve-ning when they were barely edged out 5 to 3. Columbia had a good first inning, scoring three runs on one hit and two errors to make the two run difference. Iron County Record came from behind in the second game Monday Mon-day evening to take a one point victory 5 to 4 from Utah Construction. Con-struction. The winning run was scored in the top half of the seventh se-venth inning with the score tied at 4 all as the sixth ended. Wednesday evening Bradshaw retaliated for their first night de feat by taking the measure of the Record by a score of 12 to 10. A fourth inning rally saw the gar-ago gar-ago men score seven runs, which was 'he determining factor of the game, however, both teams made several errors in the early season sea-son f.,ime. Utah Construction got into the win column Wednesday at the expense of Parowan. With the lack of adequate pitching the Parowan crew was unable to hold back the baiting of the Construction Con-struction nine and the win was the only wide margin affair in the first four games. Monday evening, June 11, Bradshaw Brad-shaw and Construction meet in the first game and Columbia and Parowan tee-off in the night cap.
