Show Redmen Gain Second Place Tie In Six-man Football Standings TEAM STANDINQ Team Won Lost Pet. Beaver 4 0 1.000 Cedar 2 2 ZOO Parowan a 2 .500 Mllford 0 4 .000 Having climbed to a second place tie in the district six-man football race with convincing victories over Mllford apd Parowan the past two weeks the Cedar High school Red-men Red-men will meet their toughest rival, the first place Beaver teeam, Friday afternoon. Coach Glen Jackson's Redmen, having shown tremendous Improvement Improve-ment In their last two encounters, will be gunning for an upset victory over the speedy Beaver team, and U they play as well as they did against Parowan Thursday they have a good ohance of turning the trick. The game will be played on the BAG gridiron and will be the final home game of the season. Jackson's teams plays its last game Nov. 7 at Mllford. Mllford plays at Parowan Prlday, and Parowan and Beaver meet In their final district game at Beaver on November 7. Beaver defeated Mllford 10 to 0 Friday to remain undefeated and take a commanding lead In the race. Against Parowan Thursday the Redmen played heads-up ball all the way, showing remarkable Improve-ment Improve-ment in blocking and tackling, and an alertness that paid big dividends. Early In the first period Jack God-ard God-ard Intercepted a pass and returned it to the Parowan eight yard Una, then after Dan Cony had advanced lt to the three, Godard crashed the line for a score. In the third Quarter Quar-ter Blaine Tueller grabbed a Ram pass and carried lt for a touchdown after a bit of excellent open field running. In the final quarter Clint Hunt broke through the Parowan line for a long gain, but after getting get-ting Into the clear fell over on the one yard line. Dan Corry carried lt over on the next play. Corry, high scoring halfback carried car-ried the ball over twice In the sec-old sec-old quarter to account for the balance bal-ance of the Redmen counters. Par-owan's Par-owan's two touchdowns came as the result of some excellent passing by Jack Stevens. |
