Show City Coordinating Council Receives National Attention The Cedar City Coordinating Council which was organized eight years ago this month, has continued to receive much recognition from other communities which are planning plan-ning similar community programs. Recently inquiries have come from North Dakota, Michigan, California, New York and Idaho according to William Snow, chairman of the council. Mr. Snow states that planners plan-ners for a conference on the communities com-munities of the United States which was held at West Point, New York early this month sent invitations to only one hundred out of ft thousand community council In the country. Sani-tation. Recreation, Safety, Towir Beautlflcatlon and Town Calendar which serves as a clearing house for all evening functions. Mr. J. C. Haws who served as chairman of Beautlflcatlon has recently re-cently resigned and his successor has not as yet been named. Mr. Haws led his committee through the centennial program of cleaning and beautifying Utah communities and accomplished a most commendable commend-able and praiseworthy Job. Officials of the State Centennial Beautlflcatlon Beautlflca-tlon committee who visited Cedar City frequently during the past year stated that in no other community had they found such forward looking look-ing leadership In community planning plan-ning and beautlflcatlon. The Central committee which serves as the executive board of the group is composed of Mr. Snow as chairman, Mr. Cooley, vice chairman; chair-man; Mrs. Kumen L. Jones, secretary, secre-tary, Mrs. Arthur Gardner, Mrs. Heber Sevy, Frank Dalley, Ianthus Wright,- L. N. Marsden and Mrs. Dix. |
