CIIRISTENSTN (Democrat) Voters of Cedar City will go to the polls Tuesday, November 4, to select city officials for the next two years, and party workers are busy with a fairly spirited campaign in behalf of their respective tickets. However, the campaign has becoms spirited only in the past few days. Political activity began in earnest earn-est Tuesday when both parties devoted de-voted 'their energies to getting as many voters registered as possible, since that was the final day on which unregistered voters could qualify. A fairly heavy registration was reported, re-ported, and it is understood that there are many voters who do not have their names on registration lists. Strong tickets have been nominated nomin-ated by each of the two major parties, par-ties, listed elsewhere on this page, and with the Democrats campalglng for ft switch to non partisan city elections . and many Republicans supporting the idea, it Is expected that party lines may not be followed follow-ed very closely In the election on Tuesday. The Republicans have nominated nominat-ed Mayor Myron F. Higbee for reelection, re-election, and the Democratic ticket Is headed by Gronway R. Parry, who has been the party candidate for Mayor on two previous occasions. occas-ions. Two Republican incumbents, Treasurer Francis Betenson, and Recorder Ellen A. Simkins, have been nominated for re election and have been endorsed by the Democratic Demo-cratic party in recognition of the excellent service they have rendered in the past two years. Therefore these two nominees are un -opposed Polling places, which will be open from 7 a, m. to 8 p. m., have been designated as follows: District No. 7, City and County building; District Dis-trict No.' 2, Lunt Motor Company Garage; District No. 3, Second ward chapel; District No. 4, Jones Equipment; Equip-ment; District No, 5, Utah Parks Company Commlsary. Judges of election have been named nam-ed as follows: District No. 1: Mary Bergstrom, Tillle Sawyer, Larue Wood, Faun Higbee, Annie McDonough, Ina Mlddleton, Judges; LeGrand Pendleton, Pen-dleton, Constable. District No. 2: Nellie Dix, Ann Perkins, Blanche Corry, O. B. Maxwell, Max-well, Jewel Wilkinson, Oenevleve Melllng, Judges; Thomas Lawrence, constable.
