Show Branch College Music Students, Director Score Opera Success The Branch Agricultural college music department scored a huge success in the presentation of the annual opera last week end, two complete casts appearing in the four performances, with the directors direct-ors and spectators unable to place the work of one ahead of the other. oth-er. The performances were another an-other proof of the unusual directing direct-ing ability of Wm, H. Manning, head of the vocal music department. Wallace Adams, the only member of the cast who sang in all performances perform-ances did unusually well in the leading role and was crowded for honors by Coy Manning and Colleen Bowcutt, who divided the leading feminine role. Others who took leading lead-ing roles and gave excellent performances per-formances were Eldred Foster, Dahl Oleave, Joan Jones, Cleone Wllcken, Janice Prothero, Dee Wllcken, Em-ron Em-ron Jensen, David Bishop and John Davis. Donald Nelson, only faculty member mem-ber in the cast, did his usually fine job. Contributing greatly to the success suc-cess of the opera was the fine accompaniment ac-companiment by the college orchestra orches-tra under the direction of Roy L. Halverson. |
