Show Kenney Wins School Board Position In Tuesday's Election B. Glen Kenney, secretary of the Cedar City National Farm Loan Association, was elected to serve as a member of the Board of Education, Edu-cation, Iron County School District, Wednesciy when an election in Precinct No. 5 was held. Mr. Kenney was elected for a five year term, beginning January 1, 1948, and will succeed Wells A. Williams of Kanarra, who had served as representative from the outlying area of the county, a precinct pre-cinct that has been eliminated as the result of redisricting of the county. The new Board member will represent Precinct No. 5, which includes that area of Cedar City West of Main street and North of Center street and including Cedar Valley. One hundred forty-nine voters cast their ballots in the election Wednesday, with Kenney receiving receiv-ing 87 votes as compared to 62 for his opponent, I. E. Riddle. The board members with whom Mr. Kenney will serve are Samuel Abbott of Paragonah, president; Dr. J. S. Prestwlch of Cedar City, vice president; R. L. Fenton, Parowan, j and Dr. John Beal, Cedar City. |
