Show School Officials Attend Conference In Salt Lake City Ianthus Wright, SuprlnUndent of Iron County achooU, Mary McMillan, Mc-Millan, Primary Supervisor; Oscai-J. Oscai-J. flulet. Principal of the Elementary school; L. C. Miles, Principal of the Junior high school and Pratt M. Bethers, Principal of Uie high school will attend a three -day conference of School Administrators, to open In Salt Lake City tonight. A number num-ber of Interesting and timely subjects sub-jects will come before the administrators adminis-trators during the conference. The problems of summer workshops work-shops for teachers will be worked out. A "Health Workshop" at the University of Utah will be the subject, sub-ject, of a talk by Vaughn L. Hall, and Superintendent of Public Instruction In-struction E. Allen Bateman, will speak on "A Conservation Workshop Work-shop at the Utah State Agricultural Agricultur-al College." On Friday, a demonstration of the proper use of fire extinguishers In schools will be given by the Salt Lake Fire department, under the direction of the Utah Safety Council. Coun-cil. Since the State organization of UNESCO has recommended that teachers should have a local organ ization in each county, this will to talked of during the time spent In Salt Lake City. Primary Supervisor Mary MoMll-lan MoMll-lan will act as resource person for one of the groups discussing an "In-cervlce Program for the Elementary Ele-mentary School Personnel". The supervisors and principals convention will separate into eight groups to discuss two very important import-ant topics: "An Evaluation of the Elementary School" and "An In-service Program for the Elementary School Personnel". The convention promises to be a very valuable one and one that will result in much good to the schools of Iron county and throughout through-out the state. |
