Show Plans For Family Life Institute Near Completion The Community Adult Education Committee under direction of the Coordinating Council Is proceeding with plans for the Fifth annual Family Life Institute to be held In Cedar City. This year the discussion leader will be Dr. Noel Keys, consulting con-sulting psychologist and professor of education at the University of California at Berkeley. The dates for the Institute are April 7 and 8. Public lectures will be held both nghts In the First ward chapel and daytime sessions will be held at the schools. Since Dr. Keys has had such wide experience In dealing with college and high school age groups, It was decided to give these groups the benefit of his appearance appear-ance here. School officials In the county are cooperating by closing classes for the lectures Thursday In Cedar City and Wednesday In Parowan. Theme for the Institute is "Youth and Marriage Today." The student lectures are entitled ,"Love and Cnndnrt In Phanfflnff World " and "Courtship and the Choice of a Mate". In; these discussions Dr. Keys will speak concerning the So-1 So-1 viet experiment with "Free Love" the right to marry, the psychology DR. NOEL KEYS of love and means of predicting the happiness of a match. He will further fur-ther discuss obstacles to marriage and family life today and scientific scienti-fic attacks upon these problems. Time will be given for questions from the audience and these lec tures promise to be highlights 31 the entire Institute. They come as a real privilege to our young people from a man who Is In charge of one of the most Important training centers for family life in our country. coun-try. The evening lectures which are open to the public are entitled, "Marriage and the Family In Present Pres-ent Day America", and "Your Marriage Mar-riage A Working Partnership". The work of Dr. Keys has received receiv-ed International recognition through articles in Reader's Digest, Colliers. Pageant and other publications. In 1M0 he launched a remarkable and enlightened college course called "Youth tad. Uarriaie Today" which Is now considered one of the most influential factors in American colleges col-leges today in building renewed faith and trust In marriage. He attracted more than five thousand persons in Salt Lake City alone when he appeared there last year. He has recently appeared In Bakersfleld Junior college with similar sim-ilar success and on this trip he will lecture In St. Oeorge and Vernal In addition to Cedar City. The institute Is sponsored Jointly by the Iron County Board of Education, Edu-cation, the Branch Agricultural college col-lege and the Home Economics department de-partment of the State Department of Education. |
