Show Dr. E. Allen Bateman Addresses LDS Institute Graduates Thirty graduates of the Cedar LDS Institute were told that scientists are recognizing a divine di-vine power as they learn more about the universe, when Dr. E. Allen Bateman, state superintended superin-tended of public instruction, gave the address to graduates at ceremonies cere-monies Sunday evening in the First ward chapel. Dr. Bateman told the group that many of the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints will provide the thinking man with the religion he sejeks, since man is not moved by intellect alone, but as emotional emo-tional beings, there is no existence exist-ence outside of our emotions. Short talks were also heard from Sandra Ward, Las Vegas, class salutatorian, and Gerald Hansen, Hyde Park, class valedictorian. valedic-torian. Diplomas were presented to the graduates by D. L. Sargent, Sar-gent, faculty member of the Branch Agricultural college, and former president of the Cedar LDS stake. Music for the program was furnished by the BAC music groups under the direction of Prof. Roy L. Halversen and Mrs. Virginia Larson. The entire program pro-gram was under the direction of Gustive O. Larson, director of the Institute. |
