Show Brother Of Cedar Man Reported Killed S Sgt Mark E. Imlay, 24, of Hurricane, Hur-ricane, a brother of Kenneth Imlay Im-lay of Cedar City, has been reported report-ed killed in action after having been missing for more than a year. Imlay was reported missing after his plane went down over Austria in November, 1944. His mother. Mrs. Ada Imlay of Hurricane, has been notified that the army has declared him dead. A graduate of the Hurricane high school he enlisted in the army in October 1940. Stationed in England Eng-land he completed 29 missions as tail-gunner on a B-17 fortress, and received the Purple Heart, Distinguished Distin-guished Flying Cross and the Air Mdal witlt four oak leaf cluster. He returned to the United States In July, 1944, spnr'.ing 14 days with his mother and other relatives before be-fore returning to duty. After several sev-eral weeks in Africa he was based in Italy, his plane goins down over Austria. |
