Show Wayne E. Stewart Killed In Action Capt. Wayne E. Stewart. 23 farmer far-mer student of the BAC and a resident res-ident of Cedar City for a munbrr of years following his graduation, has b'en reported to have been killed in action on November 23, 1944. according to word received today to-day b.- his mother. Mrs. Sarah L. Stewart of Meadow. Stewart was reported missing oil the ubove date, and following a u-iirs's wait during which information informa-tion as to what happened to him lus been sought, the war department depart-ment now assumes that he was killed. The report states that he was a crew member on a B-24 bomber on a mission over Misburg, Germany Ger-many on November 20, 1944 The plane was attacked by enemy fighters and exploded, and since Wayne was still on the plane when it was last seen it is assumed assum-ed that he was killed in the explosion. ex-plosion. Surviving are Mis mother and four brothers, Verl E.. Stewart, recently re-cently released from the army; Capt. Alio II. Stewart, who expects ex-pects to be released by Christmas; S. K. 2'c Calvin F. Stewart, who is still serving in the South Pacific, Pa-cific, and Charlie Stewart, resid-Fiding resid-Fiding at Meadow. Before entering service Stewart was employed at the Jones Garage Gar-age in Cedar City. He entered the aimy ordnance department In April, 1942, and transfrred to the air forces in October of that year. . |
