B The Salt Lako Route-Union Pacific B' building at the Panama-California i California exposition at San Diego H has been awarded a gold medal for M the unique features of their building K and tho attractive displays therein. K The structure is known as tho Salt f Lako Route-Union Pacific building, i and was erected for the purpose of m serving as an international transport- V ation center and to provido informa- K tion to world travelers and comfort m to exposition visitors. Tho building Hj contains rest rooms for ladies and j children, with maid in attendance, in- ' formation bureau and telephone H booths, smoking room for men and H other accommodations. At cither end B of the main reception room large B painted maps of the Salt Lako Route H and YellowHtone National Park are K shown on the walls with the exact i topography of the country tributary. 1 The entire front of the building is of H glass transparencies showing the nat- B ural resources of the country trav- H ersed by the Salt Lake Route and B Union Pacific system. Hi This is said to be tho first building B' of its kind ever erected at any expo- Br sition for a publicity exhibit. The B) special rest room provided for the Hp oiitcrtainmeiit of visiting railroad men Bi is one of the prominent features. B; At the closo of the exposition tho B'( building will probably be donated for Bj use of the exposition park officials. |
