Show FORI). Ford, Utah, March 6, 1917. The Social Side. I know not what the truth may be, I'll tell it as 'twas told to me. e i Meeting of Ford Improvement Club. A very interesting session was pas .ed in the transaction of business at the regular meeting of the Ford Improvement Club, which met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Fee Saturday evening, March 3rd. After the business session a very Interesting program consisting of music, mu-sic, recitations, games and solos, was given. At the close refreshments were served to those present by the hostess and a merry social hour was enjoyed. The next meeting will be hohl at the home of Mr., and Mrs. Fee March 17th. The club meets each alternate Saturday evening. a e S Ladies Aid Society Meeting. Mrs W. W. Fee very pleasantly entertained en-tertained the members of the Ladles' Aid Society at her home last Saturday afternoon. After the short business session, a very interesting program consisting of recitations and solos was given. Fancy Fan-cy work was also an enjoyable feature of the afternoon. The afternoon closed with a delight ful luncheon. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Fee April 1st. Mrs. .1. Asbury entertained Mrs H. Landing at dinner one day last see week. Mr. and Mrs. F. Waldschmidt am' Mr, Mendenhall were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Asbury Saturday .March 3rd. A card from Mr. and Mrs. L. L Beard and family, who have been snendinc the winter in Los Angeles s.ays they expect to visit n number of nlaces in that state between now and their return to Utah. They are all well and enjoying their California visit. vis-it. Mrs H. E. Rimmel, who is also 'own there, will visit relatives and , friends at a number of places alont Hiu vu-i.l before- coming hack to Ford They have certainly missed a lot of pleasant weather, for we have had one rand winter. They expect to be here some time in March. Getting Along Nicely. Mr. W. M. Wright of this place, who recently had his foot hurt while at work, is improving at a rapid rate and soon will be as good as new. i Bishop's construction gang has been here repairing the railroad bridge at Ford, Thursday and Friday of thi week. Word was received from Mr. John O. Mushrush that his daughter. Mis Myers, was fatally burned. She is survived by a husband and two child ren. e a a Utah's Trials and Blessings. We live on a claim in the sagebrush home, Where coyotes and rabbits and other beasts roam, , And the coyotes steal in our cellars at ni-ht, They wak" up our cats and give us u fright; But we get Mr. Coyote with a trusty twenty-two; The fur and bounty I guess it will do. We have many blessings in Utah so grand. It's beautiful mountains and fertile land. We have the sunshine, and the wind will blow, But it pumps the water to make our garden grow. Where corn and wheat grow with a rush, In the sunny land of Utnh 'Way out in the big sagebrush. Correspondent. We are very glad to welcome Mr. I Alexander Andrus and his brother, W. ' M. Andrus, and wife, back. Their freight car of goods arrived here this! I morning, March 3rd. Little Eunice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Asbury, is recovering from a! bud cold. a Mr. Charles Jobert has fully recovered recov-ered from a very serious cold and Is able to be out again. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Corn arrived ' Thursday, March 1st, after a five months stay in Los Angeles. They an- very glad to get back and we are glad to have them back again.
