Show BERYL. Beryl, Utah, March 7, 1917. The B. Y. H. Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark last Saturday Sat-urday evening, with a good attendance. attend-ance. The subject of discussion was the vital one of ridding: our valley of the jack rabbits. It was decided to collect money with which to purchase fencing for pens. The members of the club will donate posts and their services in constructing pens. It. is the plan of the committee to have one pen at Heist, another at Yale and still another at Beryl. Each section will have laree rabbit drives in the very near future. We trust these will be of great benefit to the dry furmers, for last year the jack rabbits harvested harvest-ed most of our crops. The remainder of the evening was spent in a social time. March 17th the Club meets at the church building at Beryl. This meeting meet-ing is called for the purpose of electing elect-ing officers for the ensuing term. Every Ev-ery club member is earnestly urged to be present and take part in the business uffairs of the club. The organ and chairs arrived for the church Tuesday. We hope services will begin very soon. Miss Mary Becker and Miss Snell, who have homestead entries one and a half miles from Beryl, are expected to arrive on this evening's train from Los Angeles, to take up their residence resi-dence on their respective claims. Mr. William Becker, brother of Miss Becker, Beck-er, came some three and one-half months airo to build the houses and prepare for the arrival of the ladies. We welcome them to our section of the valley. Mrs. J. M. Erlich returned to her homestead this morning, after an absence ab-sence of five months in Bingham, where she was visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carter. Mrs. William Lund and her sister, Mrs. Walter Gale, and baby, June Gale, of Modena, were guests of Mrs. J. ML Sweney at .Beryl, last Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday. Mrs. Sweeney was the nurse attending at the birth of baby Juno in January. Mrs. Gale was on her way to Ogaen to spend the summer. |
